Get That Cash

As stated above, ITS is hiring for the Spring semester. Openings include Classroom Technology Support Technicians, eMedia Production Assistant, Network Service Technicians, and Office Assistants. Pay ranges from $7.15-$7.40/hour, and you must be able to commit at least eight hours a week.

Don't be a broke college student anymore (or, at least a super broke college student) - apply today. The application deadline has been extended to 4pm TOMORROW, so get on it fast. The application is relatively simple.

Visit the ITS S-Team website to see a full list of openings, and of course, to apply.

A Friendly Reminder

Behind the front desk in the Student Activities Center (3rd floor, Campus Center) sits two boxes full of lonely, untouched New Student Records.

And what are these 'records'? They're yearbook-like booklets that have pictures of freshmen and their interests, accomplishments, etc. Chances are 1) your parents sent your picture in and never told you about it, proceeding to order one for you and, again, not informing you, or 2) you just didn't get the memo that they arrived.

Well, in any case, there are about 200 of you with your picture in it, which therefore means you have yet to claim yours. Bring your student i.d. to the SAC and pick yours up ASAP. Not sure if you got one? Come by anyways.

Come by fast, cause they won't be there for long, and whether you or your parents paid $20 for it, someone won't be happy about a lost record in the end.

Are You Ready For An Emergency?

According to campus officials, only 50% of IC's student body is signed up for the Emergency Notification System.

That means only 50% of us will get a text and/or email that alerts us of a threat or emergency, like a gunman on the loose or such.

If you're not in the registered 50%, sign up now. Don't let procrastination or ignorance be the deciding factor for your personal safety.

Don't Get Left Behind

Are you ready for the Cortaca Jug? If so, mark your calenders and free up the time, because tickets go on sale this Sunday, at 2pm in Clark Lounge (2nd floor, Campus Center).

The Cortaca Jug - dubbed the "biggest little game in the nation" by Sports Illustrated- is the annual football showdown between Ithaca and SUNY Cortland. This year's game will be played on Saturday, November 15 at SUNY Cortland. Kickoff is at 12pm.

Tickets are only $5, and along with that Lincoln, all you need is your IC student i.d card.

Unfortunately, you can only purchase one ticket per i.d., so tell all your friends to get in line as well.

For more details on ticket sales, check out the Intercom article here.

If you can't make it to SUNY Cortland, or just don't feel like making the trip, SGA is working towards broadcasting the game live on the fitness quad (that's the grassy area between the Fitness Center and Campus Center). Check back here for more details on that as well.

Go Bombers!

First-Year Cabaret Does CORTACA

This Sunday, at 11AM in Emerson Suites, 24 freshmen will grace the (makeshift) stage for the First-Year Cabaret's annual show.

Journey to the Jug is an original musical about a group of students', well, journey to the Cortaca Jug. Watch as they encounter mishap after mishap as set to everyone's favorite songs from Legally Blonde, Wicked, Spring Awakening, Mamma Mia and Hairspray, among others.

For more information, check out the group's event page on Facebook, and their actual website for some history on the group's beginnings.

Oh, and P.S. IT'S TOTALLY FREE!

Looking For Some Freshmen Fun?

Then look no further.

In the coming months/weeks/days, we'll be diligently planning - and hosting- some crazy-legit-amazing events exclusively for the Class of 2012. From highlighter parties, to snowballs fights and Relay for Life teams, there won't ever be an excuse for any absence of fun in your life at IC.

Think that's not enough to fill your cup? Leave an event suggestion in the Comments below, and we'll get to work on those, too.

And finally, for all you event planning aces out there looking to fulfill their planning deficiencies, join SGA's Event Planning Committee. The committee meets every Tuesday night at 7pm in the Buttermilk Falls Meeting Room (3rd floor, Campus Center).

Don't let the raging wind and snow cage you in your dorm room. We'll give you a good reason (or ten) to come out and play.

Meet Your New Best Friend

If you haven't heard yet, it's T-6 days until Spring Registration. Oh yes, the time has come to rummage through your drawers for the Undergraduate Catalog and email your academic adviser.

For those of you who have a pretty clear idea of what you're taking next semester, check out schedulizer.com. This remarkable tool takes the courses you want for next semester and formulates every possible schedule to choose from. Professors, sections, and meeting times are all considered. From four possible schedules, to seventy-three, you can sort them all out according to latest start time, most free time, and earliest finish time (among other options).

Keep in mind, though, this bit of magic isn't meant to replace your academic adviser. If anything, pick out some classes, print two or three schedules, and have your adviser help you from there. Every freshman should be meeting with their adviser in the next week or so. They don't bite.

Good luck with all the possibilities.
